Holiday Jazz in the hills

Matt Wilson's latest release "Christmas Tree-O"

The holiday season is fast approaching and now is the time to make some moves on how you would like to spend the time with those who surround you in your life.  If your sick of the same old ways, maybe this year is time for something new, something you probably haven’t thought of before. Hows about a little jazz to lighten up your holiday season?  The Litchfield Jazz Festival is proud to announce “Christmas Tree-O: A holiday concert” featuring artist in residence Matt Wilson.  The event will be held in Kent at St. Andrew’s Church on Saturday, December 11th at 3PM. If you attended the Jazz Festival this past summer, then you’ll know that this is one event that you simply do not want to miss out on. The event will feature some really amazing tunes that will warm your heart and get you into the holiday mood as you listen to tunes off his latest music release, “Christmas Tree-O”, which is now out on Palmetto Records. As a fan of the Jazz Festival, I can tell you that they really know how to throw a party, and in the right town too! Kent is an amazing small town here in Connecticut’s Litchfield Hills that offers unique attractions and welcomes you with open arms to their mom and pop atmosphere, but that is just the beginning. Kent’s scenery will absolutely delight you as you are tucked away amidst the rolling hills of Litchfield county.

After your holiday spirit has been uplifted by Matt Wilson, be sure to attend the reception which will be taking place across the street at Ober Gallery. The reception will feature raffles with holiday gift baskets and gift certificates to local Kent businesses as well as music CD’s and teas from Harney & Sons, which is a personal favorite of mine as their teas are made with only the finest ingredients.

Take it from me, you will not want to miss out on this truly one of kind event happening in Litchfield county. The Litchfield Jazz festival will certainly be the best way to kick off the holiday season with family and friends. Tickets to the event are only $15, which will most likely be the best $15 you will spend during the holidays.
