Independence. It’s this fascinating thing that we all take for granted each day, but it certainly was a long road to get there through blood, sweat, and tears. Even today, we are all fighting for our rights as others want to take down what we are made of in this country. This Independence day, we must not forget our men and women in uniform who are fighting for our rights as they provide selfless service to this nation. While we celebrate, we should all take the time to pause and reflect on our journeys to freedom.
After you’ve taken the time to pause, it’s time to celebrate, and this weekend in Litchfield County, there is plenty of celebrations taking place! Here’s a look at a few events happening in our area.
Lime Rock Park:
The Road Racing Center of the East will be holding their annual fireworks display on Saturday night at 9PM. Get ready for all the action ahead of time as there will be live entertainment this year from TriArts Entertainment. Gates open at 6PM for the event and the cost is $15 per car load. What better way to declare your independence in the southern Berkshires!

The show must go on! This year, New Milford almost didn’t have a fireworks celebration, so why not head on out to support this fantastic town nestled in southern Litchfield County. The fireworks are scheduled to launch at around 9:30PM on Saturday night from behind the Starbucks on Fort Hill, but this is just the grand finale. During the day on Saturday, enjoy Village Fair Days Challenge 44 from 10-4 at Railroad Station. Similarly, there will be free ice cream being handed out by Webster bank at 6PM by the green and the Lions Club Carnival will be at Young’s Field from 5-11PM.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
