One of the many things that I love the most about traveling is the ability to get in touch with the natural world. On the road, there are a variety of ways to do just that.
Most recently, I explored a secret garden in the famed and fortuned Litchfield Hills of Connecticut. Nothing says nature like a visit to a perennial garden complete with an array of water fountains and even some natural waterfalls. The peace and quiet and the absence of highway noise may have played a part as well.
The Hollister House is a private residence located deep in the heart of Litchfield County. Nestled in Washington, you will be hard pressed to find anything relating to modern life out here. In fact, put the cell phone away. It won’t work much anyways.
Maybe that’s the whole point.
The Hollister House is a classic garden in an English manner and is open right on through until September 30th, Friday and Saturdays only.
Take a stroll. Breathe in. Relax. This is the part of life your soul has been waiting for.
