In the Hudson Valley, Adams Fairacre brings farms to communities

Farm fresh food is amazing, isn’t it?

IMG_5257.JPGYou know that crunchy first bite you experience from produce that tastes like you just picked it yourself? It’s an experience we should all have the opportunity to enjoy, and fortunately for those living and working in New York’s Hudson Valley, there’s a place where you can do just that.

Adams Fairacre Farms is a grocery store like no other.

Based upon the belief that freshness and value shouldn’t be hard to find, Adams has been serving the Hudson Valley region since it’s founding in 1919.

Since I’m in the area for work, and noting that I love farm food, I decided to stop in, and to my surprise this was a lot more than just a grocery store. Adams Faircare is quite literally like you stepped onto a farm in the middle of the city!

A grocery store with fresh fruits and vegetables, a greenhouse filled with lush plants, a gift shop for unique finds, and even a bakery with some of the most delectable looking deserts I have seen in a long time. It was clear to me that Adams was an experience that not many others could top.

Every turn I made, a new found discovery I didn’t think I would ever discover inside of a grocery store. The greenhouse threw for me a loop as I was stunned to be able to walk from an area of fresh produce right out to plants of basil and thyme. It was as if everything in the produce section was grown onsite.

Of course, I also couldn’t pass up getting one of those delicious cupcakes that kept torturing me each time I passed through the bakery.

Sur La Table

In a world filled with instant gratification, it’s nice to know that we can still eat healthy along the way while never forgetting where it all comes from; your neighborhood farmers.
