Despite the high hopes of another vibrant Autumn in New England, the color explosions we have experienced from years past have taken a year off.

Why, you ask?

22519283_10155429649200129_9157894214138563650_nThanks to the extension of summer weather during late September and early October, paired with an unusually dry September, just wasn’t a match made in heaven for those lovey leaves of ours. What has now become is seeing patchy areas of brightness followed by an array of leaves that still have not changed. The ones that have changed? Most of what we’re seeing is dull.

The estimated $3 Billion dollar industry of Autumn tourism in New England is of course impacted by this, but is it really an impact?

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

No matter where you turn, you’re sure to discover some beautiful trees no matter where you are in New England. While every tree isn’t vibrant this year, it doesn’t mean that they have to be. You just have to find the ones that are attractive enough for you.

So, onward with your Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and enjoy what Mother Nature has cooked up for us. Even if it’s not all that it’s cracked up to be, it’s surely still a beautiful time to be in New England.
